ACUPA Education Series: Webinar

Programs Involving Children

Presented by Rick Erny and Bailey Marie Brand
Indiana University
Nov. 19, 2018, at 12:00 pm Central Time

This program will explore the implementation of a University policy designed to protect minors who participate in on-campus programs and activities, from overnight camps to one-time events. We will review Indiana University’s policy and look at what types of programs are covered, what protections it affords, and issues to think about when adopting or evaluating your own campus policies.

Bailey Brand is the Public Safety Support Assistant with the Indiana University Office of Public Safety and Institutional Assurance. Bailey has been in this role since 2015, after working for the Indiana University Police Department with 8 years as a Communications Operator and Communications Instructor/Trainer. Bailey also worked for the Indiana Department of Child Services as an Investigator of reported and suspected child abuse and neglect.

Rick Erny is the Public Safety Support Manager with the division of Public Safety and Institutional Assurance of Indiana University.  He assumed his current role in 2016 transferring from the IU Office of Research Administration.  He has 24 years of experience in administration and compliance with federal regulations at the state and local level, including Department of Education, National Institutes of Health,  Department of Defense, Department of Justice and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
