This 2020 conference session will be presented via webinar.

This session will raise awareness of participants to the common challenges faced when new leaders join our organizations.  We will explore the notion that through careful design, orientation sessions can deliver the most critical information without causing an overload that might frighten new leaders or dissuade others from utilizing the policy process to the institution's best advantage.

Learning Outcomes:

Participants in this session will:

  1. Learn of the challenges faced when orienting a new executive, or other individual with a role in policy development and management.
  2. Learn what to consider in developing a strategy for efficient and effective orientation.
  3. Receive printed materials that will help them establish or enhance their orientation programs for senior leaders, policy owners, and others.
