Dear ACUPA Members:

The ACUPA Board of Directors has decided to cancel the annual conference in Chicago, Ill., scheduled for June 8-10, 2020. This difficult decision was made after consultation with speakers, our planning and education committee members, and our potential conference participants. Ultimately, the escalating health concerns surrounding the coronavirus and ongoing travel and other restrictions make it impossible for us to hold an in-person conference at this time.


While we regret the need to cancel our annual conference, we are excited to announce that work is underway to provide some of the originally planned conference sessions via ACUPA’s Educational Webinar Series. The Events Planning Committee, the Education Committee, and our presenters are creating a schedule of these webinars to be delivered over the next several months. We will also host our annual business meeting virtually. As details become available for the educational series and the annual meeting, we will communicate them to you on the ACUPA website, through social media (please follow us through LinkedIn) and in ACUPA emails (please add,,, and to your safe senders list).

Moving Forward – Important Housekeeping Items

  • The Westin Chicago Northwest canceled all reservations made in association with the conference room block. Please contact the hotel if you do not receive a cancellation notice by May 4, or made reservations outside the room block. If you made reservations at another property, please cancel your reservations.
  • Please cancel any travel reservations. Be sure to check with your airline, as many are currently waiving change fees. ACUPA is not responsible for any cancellation penalties.
  • Look for a refund of your conference registration fee. All registration refunds will be processed within 60 days through your original method of payment. There is no need to contact ACUPA to initiate this refund.
  • If you registered to participate in the boat tour excursion, your refund will be processed within 60 days through your original method of payment. There is no need to contact ACUPA to initiate this refund.
  • If you contributed to the Ronald McDonald House service project, your donation will be distributed to the charity unless you contact ACUPA by May 31 to initiate a refund. Donations will be matched by ACUPA as originally planned.
