Institutional Memberships

Purpose of Institutional Memberships

Institutional memberships are designed to expand the diversity of subject matter expertise among our members and increase access to the organization for policy adjacent employees. As ACUPA grows, institutional memberships can help to enhance the organization’s resources and services.

Institutional memberships also provide value for institutions of higher education that have multiple employees who could benefit from a membership.

How They Work

Employees of higher education institutions may opt for an institutional membership when more than one employee of the college, university, or university system chooses to join ACUPA. One member serves as the account manager for the school. This person can enroll or invite others to enroll themselves on the account (sub-accounts) based on the tier level of dues paid. The account manager and all sub-accounts are able to see who else is enrolled under the institutional membership. If a member leaves the institution or changes positions, both the account manager and the sub-account(s) can be transferred to another employee.

Each member within the institutional membership has the same rights and responsibilities associated with individual higher education memberships.

Employees of other institutions, agencies, or companies that are not higher education are not eligible for institutional memberships.

Why Should My School Consider an Institutional Membership?

Whether your college or university has a centralized or decentralized policy function, the process of developing, vetting, approving, and communicating your policies to the campus community takes the work of people across many functional areas. ACUPA serves employees whose primary role is to oversee policy administration and those who are policy adjacent, such as:

  • HR professionals
  • Title IX officers
  • Compliance professionals
  • Finance and business officers
  • Accreditation coordinators
  • Auditors
  • Risk management professionals
  • Research compliance administrators

Employees involved in policy creation, review, and general compliance can all take advantage of ACUPA’s member benefits when they are covered by an institutional membership.

As your institution adds ACUPA members, the cost per person decreases, making the value of membership rise, as shown in the table below.

Tier Number of

Tier 1 (individual) 1 $250.00 $250
