In this session, ACUPA colleagues will share how they are putting AI to work in their day-to-day policy practice with a focus on what’s working, what they’ve locked down, and what they’ve learned along the way. 

By the end of this session, participants will:

• See concrete examples of how policy offices are using AI for drafting, research, web content, and professional support.

• Understand the importance of guardrails: test environments, limiting sources, and protecting institutional data.

• Consider tradeoffs between building AI tools in-house versus using vendor solutions.

• Take away practical prompts, use cases, and cautions they can adapt for their own institutions.
